While working at Alberta Blue Cross I attended a meeting on innovation. Following the meeting I had a conversation with our risk and facilities managers about placing a TV in the main lobby. Facilities was able to obtain a large flat screen TV no longer being used that I built an interace as well as a process for updating the content.
Using Jquery, HTML, CSS and PHP I built an animated interface providing information about:
- Company events
- Fitness schedule classes
- Event photos
- Weather
This feed of information is now available on various monitors situated throughout Alberta Blue Cross.
- I met with Risk and Facilities management to discuss the idea and material required.
- I met with the Vice President of Corporate Communications to demo the prototype and explain the process for updating the content.
- I worked with IT Desktop Support to install the televisions and connect the feed.
